Bridget

Hello! I’m a 23 year old fashion inspired student from Grimsby, hoping to take my degree onto professional feature writing as a career.

I spend most of my free time trawling charity and vintage shops for fashion bargains – although I can’t say that all of my fashion choices have been a success!

I also have a love for travel, photography and music.

I joined the gym around a month ago, and although I don’t go as often as I should – a quick gym session gets me motivated for the rest of the day.

I have a current work experience placement which also keeps me busy. I am involved in writing for Sync City magazine, based in Sheffield.

My style:
I’d say 75% of my wardrobe is made up of different coloured printed dresses.

Mostly florals- a fashion statement that never seems to die out. I have a few lace LBD’s (or little Black Dresses!) that seem to come out of my bulging closet more often than anything else – they seem to fit any occasion that I can’t find an outfit for.

I also love little blouses with Peter Pan collars – I have so many of these! They go perfectly under a jumper paired with a little skirt.

My favourite shops are Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Ark, Cow, and ASOS Marketplace for my vintage buys. I also pop into all charity shops when I see them.

On a night out:
I usually go for something I feel comfortable in – but then dress it up with statement heels and jewellery.

Most worn item:
My black Urban Outfitters boots – I don’t have a huge range of shoes, so I wear the same one’s over and over. They get worn out in no time! Also, my Topshop coat has got so worn out that I refuse to wear it – the only problem is, I can’t find a replacement coat I like.

Favourite items:
My navy ‘Madame Butterfly’ playsuit. I got it for £10 in Leeds 4 years ago and it’s still one of my favourite pieces. It has polka dots, it has lace, it’s flattering and it makes me feel good!

My style icon:
It’s a toss up between Zooey Deschanel and Alexa Chung. They both have individual style, but never have the over-done look. ( Fake tan, etc.)

Zooey always looks clean, her make up always looks fresh and she wears such cute little chic clothes.

Alexa always has a certain glamour about her, but always maintains a sassy ‘just rolled out of bed’ style. If only it was that easy to look so good.

Favourite hair/beauty product:
For my hair – L’anza Healing Smooth Straightening Balm is brilliant and smells beautiful. My favourite beauty product is my pink Blusher by BareMinerals, or Pore Professional by Benefit.

My style: I love floral patterns and lace. Most of my clothes are black- I think it’s more flattering. I really like the ‘fit-flare’ shape and sweet-heart necklines. I like finding bargains on eBay and at charity shops.

Favourite items: Leather jacket (Warehouse via eBay) and black/gold stud suede boots (Topshop)

Steph Hodgkinson
Hey I’m Steph and I’m 21. I’ve always loved feature writing, whether it’s travel, food reviews, music, films or fashion. I’ve experimented with blogging before, writing film and music reviews.

In my spare time I can be usually found at a gig or shopping. Totally obsessed with music, there isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not listening to songs!

I have a passion for photography. I also enjoy watching films, swimming and zumba. I currently work part-time as a customer assistant at Tesco.

My style: I’d say my style is quite varied. I like to mix it up between an alternative style with band tshirts and shorts which reflects my passion for rock music, but there’s also the girly side of me who loves leopard print, pretty blouses, lace, and, of course, polka dots! My favourite shops are Select, Internacionale and H&M. I also love browsingboohoo.com!

On a night out: I love dressing up so either a dress with a bit of sparkle, shorts with a sheer top or an animal print skirt and Peter Pan-collar top.

Favourite items: Leopard print skater skirt or my black lace dress.

Most worn: My trusty red high-waisted shorts

Style icon: Katy Perry. She’s naturally beautiful and always wears clothes which are tailored to her curves. She’s not afraid to be daring and fun with her choice of outfits, whether it’s cupcake bikinis or cherry print dresses!

I’ve always enjoyed feature writing and am hoping to go into this in the future. I have been writing reviews and articles for various websites over the past couple of years and am currently writing music reviews for popfodder.

My style: I love peter pan collars, Mary Jane shoes & prints. Anything but plain goes! Skinny jeans are an essential and are something I wear almost every day. My favourite shops are Topshop, ASOS and Urban Outfitters.

On a night out:
I like clothes that are flattering but not too revealing! Long sleeves and high necks can look just as good whilst adding a bit of class.

Most worn item:
Black skinnies, easy to wear and they go with everything!

Favourite items:
A pair of black Mary Jane doll shoes that look like a pair I had when I was about three.

My style icon:
I love how Fearne Cotton dresses, if I could have anyone’s wardrobe I think it would be hers!

Favourite hair/beauty product:
Aussie lushiously long leave in conditioner! I’ve been using it for months and it made my hair grow so quickly.
